#phi035 | With percolating bass lines, statically charged synths and downtempo grooves, the motives of Atlanta’s citizenGreen have been pretty clear since sole citizen Chris Amell started creating computer compositions in the early 2000s. But with his latest EP Ulterior Motives, citizenGreen’s chilled-out intentions have never been more apparent. From the opening glitch, guitar-like synths and IDM of “Follow Me” to the more ambient dub sound of “Greenhouse Effect,” citizenGreen motivates the listener to get lost in the pulsating beats and explore psychedelic neurological realms.
